As part of your application, you'll be asked to upload evidence of a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English.
If your initial submission wasn't accepted, don't worry! We’ll guide you through the next steps.
Please note that new regulations have come into place regarding functional skills qualifications. You can read more here.
Here's how to proceed if your maths/English evidence is rejected:
If you're over 19 and you have opted out of functional skills qualifications:
Great news! A rejected submission doesn't affect your chances of being accepted into the apprenticeship.
Please note that if your employer believes these qualifications are essential for your role, you will need to provide alternative evidence at a later date or take exams alongside your apprenticeship.
If you're under 19 (or over 19 and have not opted out of functional skills qualifications):
Check for alternative evidence: See if you have another document that meets the requirements. You can find guidance on acceptable evidence here.
No other evidence to hand? No problem! You can still be accepted into one of our apprenticeship programmes (please note, if you are under 19, you will need to pass initial assessments in Maths and English to be accepted). After starting your programme, you'll have 21 days (with a reasonable extension if needed) to upload your qualification evidence. If you don't have an existing qualification, we'll support you in achieving these qualifications alongside your core apprenticeship studies. Our Functional Skills coaches will be there to help you every step of the way. Learn more about the process in our articles on the exam process and learning support pathways.
