Progress Reviews: The New Live Meeting Process

This guide is for Apprentices who have been told they are moving to the new Progress Review process. Under the new process, a Progress Review is a live meeting with no form to complete beforehand.

If you have not been told your reviews are changing, and you still complete a Progress Review form online, see 'Progress Reviews: Completing Your Review Form'.

Which Process Applies to You

You are on the new process if Multiverse has told you that your Progress Reviews are changing to a live meeting. If you are still asked to complete a Progress Review form online, you are on the previous process.

For the previous process, see 'Progress Reviews: Completing Your Review Form'.

What a Progress Review Is

A Progress Review is a regular check-in on how your apprenticeship is going. It is a live conversation between you, your Coach and your Apprentice Manager, held at least every three months. A Progress Review is a required part of your apprenticeship.

What Has Changed

The Progress Review used to involve a form that you completed online, with a call sometimes happening afterwards. That form has been removed. A Progress Review is now a single live meeting between you, your Coach and your Apprentice Manager, held at least every three months.

Why Your Progress Review Matters

Your Progress Review is your time. It is the moment to step back from the week-to-week and look at how far you have come, where you are heading, and what you need to get there. Because your Apprentice Manager is in the meeting, it is also your best opportunity to make your progress visible to the person who shapes your role. You can connect what you are learning to the work you do, and ask for the time or support that makes the apprenticeship work alongside your job.

A Progress Review is a conversation, not an assessment. Your Coach brings a summary of your progress, so you do not need to prepare anything. Apprentices who keep their Apprentice Manager close to their learning are much more likely to stay on track and finish strongly. Half an hour every three months is one of the highest-value things you can do for yourself on the programme.

How to Book Your Progress Review

Your Coach shares their availability on The Platform. You select a slot that works for you and your Apprentice Manager. Once you select a slot, Multiverse sends a calendar invitation to you and to your Apprentice Manager. You usually book your next review at the end of each Progress Review meeting. Book your review when your Coach prompts you, or when you receive a reminder email.

What Happens During the Meeting

Your Coach leads the conversation using a summary of your progress. Together, the three of you talk about how you are progressing against your training plan, your off-the-job (OTJ) hours, how you apply your learning at work, anything slowing you down, and the actions you each take next. Come ready to talk about your experience on the programme and anything Multiverse or your Apprentice Manager can help you with.

What Happens After the Meeting

After the meeting, you receive a written summary. The summary records what was discussed and what everyone agreed to do.

Tracking Your Progress Between Reviews

You can see your own progress at any time on The Platform. This includes your current learning, projects, off-the-job hours and how you are tracking overall. Your Apprentice Manager has their own view too, so they can stay close to how you are doing between reviews.

A Quick Way to Prepare (Optional)

You do not need to prepare anything for your review, because your Coach brings the summary. If you would like to walk in feeling ready, Atlas can help. Ask Atlas to help you pull out the skills you have developed over your recent modules, or to put into words how your learning shows up in your work. This is a quick way to make sure your progress comes across clearly in the conversation.
