Our Approach to English and Maths Support: Practical Skills for Professional Success

Updated this week

At Multiverse, we're not just delivering training; we're cultivating future leaders through a uniquely effective learning experience. Our approach goes beyond traditional methods, focusing on practical application and personalised support to ensure lasting impact directly relevant to your role.

We understand that for many of our apprentices, excelling professionally means focusing on the skills you use every day—like calculating a budget, analysing data, or clearly communicating a proposal—rather than preparing for formal examinations. That’s why we’ve enhanced our English and Maths support structure.

What is Enhanced English and Maths Support?

This support structure is designed to be non-examinable and focuses on developing the practical English and Maths skills that are most beneficial to your professional success and overall apprenticeship completion. It’s about building confidence and competence in real-world scenarios.

We champion inclusive learning, which means providing robust scaffolding and differentiated instruction to cater to the diverse needs of every learner.

For a selection of learners:

  • If you’ve received an email from us about numeracy and literacy skills: You have been asked to submit a short, mandatory form. This helps us to assess your levels of numeracy and literacy and suggest an appropriate support pathway. It helps us accurately tailor our non-examinable support to your specific development needs, ensuring we offer you the targeted support that will be most beneficial to your progression. Please fill in the form at your earliest convenience - it should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

  • If you have not received the form: You would have completed a similar literacy and numeracy check during your initial assessment before starting your programme. This data is already secured, and you do not need to take any further action at this time.

What happens if my answers suggest I need support?

The form is a diagnostic tool, not a pass/fail assessment. If your answers indicate that you are "Not confident" in certain areas, this simply means you might benefit from the support we can provide.

The outcome is not a penalty; it is a personalised action plan. It ensures you receive targeted resources and support that build confidence and practical skills in numeracy and/or literacy, giving you the best chance to thrive and reach your full potential.
