Flying Start session guide for Apprentices: importance, preparation & support.

The Flying Start session is a pivotal, interactive introduction to your apprenticeship with Multiverse. This session ensures that apprentices are well-prepared to embark on their journey, familiarizing them with the community, acquainting them with their peers, and equipping them with essential skills like managing up.


The Importance of the Flying Start Session

Embarking on an apprenticeship is a pivotal step in one's career, offering numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth. The Flying Start session plays a vital role in this journey, introducing apprentices to crucial information and tools necessary for a successful start.

Preparation for the Flying Start Session

To make the most of your Flying Start experience, we've outlined some critical steps:

  • Ensure you've completed the Onboarding Form before the session.

  • Review the Apprentice Welcome Pack, a comprehensive guide to get you started. This guide will be shared via an onboarding email before the Flying Start session - keep an eye out.

  • Check that your camera and microphone are working.

  • Check that you are using an up-to-date browser. Our video conferencing software supports the two most recent versions of the following supported browsers:
    Google Chrome

    Microsoft Edge - This browser is updated automatically when you update Windows

How to join your Flying Start

Unsure about how to join your Flying Start? Don't worry, there are a few different ways you can join.

Option 1: An email invite sent to your work email. You can find this in your calendar. This will include a link to join your session.

Option 2: Via a link in your onboarding email. This will be sent to you around 7 days before your Flying Start.

[For those joining via Multiverse Video Conferencing] Option 3: By logging into your Multiverse account and clicking on your “Live Sessions” Page. There will be a "join session" button next to “Flying Start”. The "join session" will appear 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

[For those joining via Multiverse Video Conferencing] Option 4: If you are already logged into your My Multiverse account, you can click on your “Live Sessions” Page. There will be a "join session" button next to “Flying Start”. The "join session" button should appear 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.

I am getting an auth0 error message when I try to log in

If you are not already logged in to your Multiverse account, you will be prompted to log in. Users can receive an auth0 error if they try to log in with a Google account rather than with their Multiverse account details. If this happens, navigate back to the login page and enter the details you signed up to Multiverse with.

I can only see a white page

This is likely to be due to your organization's firewalls. If this is the case, please don't worry, you can get in touch with our support team who will be able to assist with the next steps.

I am having connection issues/ I can't see or hear everyone in my meeting

The first thing to check is your internet connection. If possible, try switching to a different router or mobile hotspot.

Sometimes a third-party browser extension can interfere with some websites. You could test this by trying to join using an incognito or private browsing window. If this works, then it is likely that a browser extension is causing the issue.

It could be possible that another platform interfering. A quick way to fix this is to clear your cache and cookies. Below are instructions for different browsers:
