Why an OTJ Entry Shows as "Non-Compliant"
If an Apprentice sees an off-the-job (OTJ) entry marked "non-compliant," this usually means the entry's date falls outside their recorded on-programme window, not that anything they logged was wrong.
The Most Common Cause
This flag most often appears when an entry is dated on or before the Apprentice's start date, even if they had genuinely started their apprenticeship. This happens when the recorded start date on The Platform does not match the Apprentice's actual start date.
This is a data issue, not a logging mistake. The Apprentice does not need to delete or redo the entry.
How to Get It Corrected
Contact the Support Team through Atlas with:
A screenshot of the entries showing as non-compliant.
The Apprentice's actual start date.
The Multiverse Support Team can correct the recorded start date, which resolves the non-compliant flag on affected entries. This can take up to 48 hours to update.
A Related Issue: Draft Entries
Separately, an OTJ entry can appear as "Draft" rather than non-compliant. This happens when an Apprentice completes a learning unit but does not fill in the pop-up asking how long they spent on it. The platform creates a Draft entry with no time attached instead of skipping it.
This is expected behaviour. To fix a Draft entry, the Apprentice should find it in their OTJ log and add the time spent.
Frequently Asked Questions
Questions | Answers |
Question: Why does my OTJ entry say "non-compliant"? | Answer: This usually means the entry's date falls before or after your recorded start date on The Platform. It is a data issue, not a mistake in your logging. Contact the Support Team with a screenshot and your actual start date to get it corrected. |
Question: Why do I have OTJ entries showing as "Draft"? | Answer: This happens when you complete a learning unit without filling in the pop-up asking how long you spent on it. Find the entry in your OTJ log and add the time to resolve it. |
Question: Do I need to delete and redo a non-compliant entry? | Answer: No. Once the Support Team corrects your recorded start date, the flag on your existing entries clears automatically. |
