Attending a Launch Meeting
Updated over a week ago

What is the Launch Meeting?

Your Launch Meeting is a crucial step in your apprenticeship journey, designed to ensure you and your manager are aligned and set up for success. Unlike your Flying Start session, which focuses on onboarding logistics, the Launch Meeting is a collaborative discussion facilitated by your dedicated Launch Coach. This 60-minute small group session (4-5 apprentices and their managers) offers a personalised introduction to your coach, who will be a key support throughout your apprenticeship.

This meeting allows you to build a personal connection with your coach, align your motivations and goals with your manager, understand the programme's objectives, proactively plan for potential challenges, and define measurable outcomes. Essentially, the Launch Meeting establishes a clear roadmap, ensuring everyone is on the same page and empowered to achieve impactful results for your team and organisation.

Preparing for your Launch Meeting

To make the most of your time, please come prepared to discuss key points with your manager. These include:

  • Identifying any potential challenges or concerns about the apprenticeship or role-fit to explore

  • Defining a concrete measurable outcome you want to achieve within the first three months of the programme (e.g., time saved, cost savings, increased revenue, improved client satisfaction)

  • Articulating the importance of this outcome to your team and organisation

  • Connecting how the skills learned in the first quarter will help achieve this objective

Scheduling your Launch Meeting

Your Launch Coach will contact you around the time of your Flying Start session. They will provide a selection of time slots for you and your manager to choose from. These meetings typically occur within the first 20 days of your programme. Please remember to book your manager in as well as yourself!

Manager attendance and support

Your manager's participation is essential for a successful Launch Meeting. Their presence ensures alignment and support for your apprenticeship journey. If your manager has an unavoidable conflict, please contact your coach so that you can work to find a solution.
