Understanding the Training Plan
A Training Plan (which may also be referred to as a commitment statement or apprenticeship agreement) is a contract between you, the apprentice, and your apprentice manager (who represents your employer). This important document is signed at the beginning of your apprenticeship after your application has been accepted. Its purpose is to outline and align expectations and is a key compliance rewuirement under the Education and Funding Skills Agency’s Funding Rules for Apprenticeships.
Issues Accessing the Training Plan
The Training Plan (which may also be referred to as a commitment statement or apprenticeship agreement) is often sent via Pandadoc.

Paste the link into the browser search
Make sure the beginning of the email.email.pandadoc URL is http:// as opposed to https://
The form is not loading correctly
If you have issues with the document loading, it will likely be due to your organization's firewalls blocking the domain. To resolve this, ask your IT team to allowlist Pandadoc using this guide. If this is not possible, please reach out to our support team.
Frequently Asked Questions
When and how will I receive my Training Plan?
Your Training Plan will be sent to you and your manager approximately two working days before your apprenticeship programme begins, which we call the "flying start." Usually, these are sent automatically through Pandadoc, unless your employer has made a different request.
If you have not received your training plan, please reach out to our support team who will be able to troubleshoot this.
I’ve signed my Training Plan, but it’s still showing as an outstanding task on my homepage.
This can happen as sometimes employers prefer using Docusign for signing, rather than the automated process via Pandadoc. If you’ve already signed via Docusign, you can ignore the message on your homepage showing it as incomplete. If you have signed via Pandadoc and it is still showing as outstanding, please reach out to our support team who will be able to troubleshoot this.
When is the deadline for signing the Training Plan?
Where possible, you should read and sign your training plan in advance of your flying start to ensure everything is in order. However, if you need more time, the ESFA provides 42 days from the day of your start date to sign.
