Overview
As part of our application process, we may ask you to confirm whether your apprentice's role will allow them to apply the learnings from the programme.
The importance of Apprentice Manager support
Apprentice managers are crucial to an apprentice's success. You will be essential in ensuring they can protect their time to apply their learnings back to their role, and that they can access the right opportunities to do so.
You will be invited to a quarterly progress review with your apprentice and their Multiverse coach to discuss progress and return on investment, but it is important that outside of these sessions, you continue to support your apprentice by allowing them to complete their off-the-job hours, attend their coach-led sessions, and apply the skills they are learning back in their role.
Conversation Guide
You will play a key role in ensuring your apprentice gets the most out of their apprenticeship. If we need more information, we'll send you a short Duties Attestation to confirm they have the right opportunities in place to succeed in the apprenticeship.
It's important that you and your apprentice have a conversation to set clear expectations around how they will incorporate learnings into their role, and how they can protect the right amount of time to dedicate to the apprenticeship. Review what we may ask you below, and use it as a guide for your conversation with your report.
When we will contact you
You are notified once your apprentice has been committed to a programme. We contact you in two cases:
If your employer runs Line Manager sessions, you may be invited to one after your apprentice commits to a programme.
If we need more information about the duties for your apprentice's programme, you are asked to complete a Duties Attestation.
Completing the Duties Attestation
For what the Duties Attestation asks and how to complete it, see Understanding Your Apprentice's Duties Confirmation Email.
Frequently Asked Questions
I can't see an email from Multiverse, how can I find it?
If we have asked you to complete a Duties Attestation, you should have received an email in your inbox. Please make sure to check your spam folder too, in case it has ended up there. Unfortunately, we are currently not able to easily re-send it.
How long do I have to reply?
Please reply as soon as you can, as it helps us complete your apprentice's application. If you can't reply straight away, don't worry. Your apprentice can still be finalised.
I am away and cannot reply. What happens next?
There is no need to worry. Please let your apprentice know. If you are away for longer, your employer's apprenticeship team, or someone you nominate to cover for you, can answer instead. Whoever you nominate must manage your apprentice, have oversight of their work, and know their role well enough to answer questions about their duties. Your apprentice can ask the Multiverse Support Team to arrange it.
You and your apprentice should have already discussed the apprenticeship opportunity and requirements before they applied to ensure they understand what this opportunity means for them and how you will support them.
Do I have to speak to my apprentice before answering?
We always recommend that you and your apprentice sit down and have a conversation before they begin applying so that you have a chance to set expectations, discuss the opportunity, and agree on ways of working. This is the first step in their apprenticeship journey, and it's crucial to set the relationship up for success from the start.
