How to Add or Edit Your Video

Adding a Video

To add a video to your profile:

  1. Go to your profile.

  2. Click on the "Get started with the video" button.

  3. Choose whether to:

    1. Record the video directly from your camera (maximum 90 seconds).

    2. Upload a pre-existing video file.

Note: If you record from the camera, the timer allows a maximum of 90 seconds. For multiple takes or a longer video, uploading a pre-existing file is recommended.

Editing Your Video

You can return to your profile and upload a new video at any point. However, it is advised not to update your video if you have applications currently open.


What to Include in Your Video

When creating your personal video, ensure you cover these points:

  • Introduce Yourself: Provide your name and a friendly greeting.

  • Explain Your Interests: Discuss why you want to pursue a technology apprenticeship in your chosen subject(s). Remember that this should be generalised to the apprenticeship discipline, and not reference a specific employer.

  • Share a Fun Fact: Add a personal touch with a fun fact about yourself.

  • Express Enthusiasm: Show your interest and eagerness for growth and experience in your field.

  • Keep your video within 1-1.5 minutes.

  • Record in a quiet environment with a clear background.

  • Dress in smart casual attire.

  • Use landscape orientation and ensure your camera is stable.

  • Re-record if the first take isn't perfect.
