Careers Guidance at Multiverse

Your Multiverse apprenticeship includes access to a range of career advice resources. These are designed to help you understand how your developing skills translate into career opportunities — now and in the future. All resources are optional, but we recommend starting with the Careers Guidance unit diagnostic to find the support most relevant to you.

What Career Support Is Available to You?

Four types of career support are available to all Apprentices on a Multiverse programme.

The Careers Guidance unit is your starting point. Complete the diagnostic at the beginning to navigate directly to the activities most relevant to your current needs. This unit is available at any time on your Multiverse learning platform.

Group coaching activities are built into your programme at four key milestones. At each point, you will be prompted to reflect on your career growth and to recognise the progress you are making.

Community events are open-invite live sessions covering a range of career-related topics. Details of upcoming events are available on your learning platform. Most sessions are recorded so you can access them at a time that suits you.

One-to-one sessions with a Career Adviser offer personalised guidance from a professionally qualified specialist. You can access booking links through the Careers Guidance unit.

One-to-One Careers Guidance Sessions

Who Can Book a Session?

All Apprentices currently enrolled on a Multiverse programme can book a one-to-one careers guidance session. There are no eligibility criteria and no restrictions based on your programme or employer.

Who Delivers the Sessions?

Sessions are delivered by professional Career Advisers who hold a Level 6 qualification in careers guidance. Career Advisers may be external contractors, but all operate fully under Multiverse guidelines. Full details about the use of external advisers are displayed during the booking process.

What Happens in a Session?

Sessions are tailored to your individual needs. Before booking, review the Careers Guidance unit on your learning platform. This helps you identify which area of the PATH framework (Possibilities, Awareness, Tools, and Horizons) you want to focus on.

A session might cover any of the following:

  1. Exploring your strengths and values.

  2. Understanding career progression routes in your sector.

  3. Building confidence for your next career step.

  4. Practical planning if you are facing redundancy or restructuring.

How Long Is a Session?

Each session lasts a maximum of 45 minutes.

How Many Sessions Can You Book?

There is no hard cap on the number of sessions you can book. We recommend four sessions in total, aligned to the four group coaching milestones built into your programme.

How to Book a One-to-One Session

  1. Access the booking link via Atlas or via the Careers Guidance unit in your Multiverse learning platform.

  2. Select an available session time.

  3. Enter your registered Multiverse email address. Your Multiverse email is your unique account identifier.

  4. Complete the mandatory fields in the booking form.

  5. Check your inbox for a booking confirmation. The subject line will read "1:1 Careers Guidance (Multiverse)".

Important: Sessions cannot be booked less than 8 hours in advance.

Booking Issues and Technical Help

You Have Not Received a Booking Confirmation

  1. Check your spam or junk folder.

  2. Search your inbox for the exact subject line "1:1 Careers Guidance (Multiverse)".

  3. Confirm you used your registered Multiverse email address when booking. Personal addresses will not receive the confirmation.

  4. If you still cannot find your confirmation, contact the Multiverse Support Team. Include the phrase "1:1 careers advice booking confirmation" in your message so the team can route your query quickly.

The Booking Page Will Not Load

Some organisations block third-party scheduling tools at the network level. If the booking page does not load, contact the Multiverse Support Team. The team will arrange a manual booking on your behalf.

Your Session Is Visible in Your Work Calendar

Your booked session automatically appears in your calendar under the title "1:1 career guidance." The invitation is sent to your registered Multiverse email address. If you want to prevent colleagues or managers from seeing the session details, open the calendar appointment and change the visibility setting to "Private." This is your responsibility to action.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

To cancel or reschedule, use the links in your original booking confirmation email. The learner manages this directly with no need to contact support.

IMPORTANT: Please ensure that any sessions are cancelled with 24 hours notice, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Missed sessions and late cancellations: Late cancellations and missed sessions create operational costs for Multiverse. If a pattern of missed or late-cancelled sessions is observed, Multiverse reserves the right to review your access to future bookings.

Confidentiality and Recording

Are Sessions Confidential?

Yes. Your session is a private and confidential space. Your Career Adviser provides impartial advice focused entirely on your best interests. Multiverse does not share session content with your employer.

The only exception to confidentiality is safeguarding. If you disclose information that indicates a risk of harm to yourself or others, your Career Adviser has a professional and legal obligation to escalate this to the Multiverse Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) via [email protected].

Are Sessions Recorded?

Sessions are transcribed by default for administrative, quality, and audit purposes. If you want to opt out, inform your Career Adviser at any point during the session. Your Career Adviser will disable the transcription tool immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Questions

Answers

Question: Why should I use the career advice service as part of my apprenticeship?

Answer: Your apprenticeship is designed to build skills that last beyond the programme itself. The career advice service helps you understand how those skills translate into career opportunities in a rapidly changing job market. The service is structured around the PATH framework — Possibilities, Awareness, Tools, and Horizons — which gives you a rounded approach to thinking about your career at any stage of your journey. The guidance is tailored to you and entirely independent. It is here to support your goals, not anyone else's.

Question: What is the PATH framework?

Answer: PATH stands for Possibilities, Awareness, Tools, and Horizons. Possibilities helps you explore future directions and emerging opportunities. Awareness helps you understand your strengths, values, and professional identity. Tools focuses on the practical skills that turn your learning into workplace impact. Horizons prepares you for the future with guidance on CVs, networking, and interviews. Together, the four pillars give you a structured way to think about your career at any point in your apprenticeship.

Question: When is the best time to book a one-to-one session?

Answer: You can book at any point when you need tailored guidance. The recommended moments are at each of the four group coaching milestones built into your programme. Other good moments include when you feel uncertain about your career direction, when you want to build confidence before a significant career step, or if you are facing redundancy. You do not need a specific reason to book — if you feel the session would be useful, book it.

Question: Can I log career advice activities as Off-the-Job (OTJ) hours?

Answer: No.

Question: Where can I find upcoming community career events?

Answer: Community events are listed on your Multiverse learning platform. Your Coach will also highlight relevant upcoming sessions during your group coaching milestones. Most sessions are recorded, so if you miss a live event you can usually access it afterwards. Occasional exceptions apply where a guest speaker has requested the session not be recorded.

Question: I cannot find the Career Guidance unit on my learning platform. Where is it?

Answer: The Career Guidance unit is in the Learning section of your Multiverse learning platform, where you access your core programme content. At the top of that page, look for the section labelled "Onboarding and supporting tools." The Career Guidance materials are hosted there and are available to access at any time.

Question: How can I use my apprenticeship qualification to further my career?

Answer: Your apprenticeship gives you a set of practical, transferable skills that have value well beyond your current role. The Horizons pillar of the PATH framework is the best place to start. Use the Career Guidance unit to update your CV and LinkedIn profile with specific, outcome-focused examples from your programme. Develop your professional network through the Multiverse community. Position yourself as a specialist in your field using the up-to-date knowledge your programme has given you. If you want personalised guidance on any of these steps, book a one-to-one session with a Career Adviser.
