What is a Training Plan?

A Training Plan (which may also be referred to as a commitment statement or apprenticeship agreement) is a contract between the apprentice, the apprentice manager (who represents your employer) and the training provider (Multiverse). This online document must be signed at the beginning of any apprenticeship.

Why is it important?

Its purpose is to outline and align expectations and is a key compliance requirement under the Education and Funding Skills Agency’s Funding Rules for Apprenticeships.

Troubleshooting: Issues Accessing the Training Plan

The Training Plan is often sent via Pandadoc. We’ve outlined some troubleshooting scenarios below to support.

The 'view document' link in the email does not work

If the 'view document' link in your training plan email does not work, try the following steps:

  1. Right-click the "view document" button in the email

  2. Copy link address

  3. Paste the link into the browser search

  4. Make sure the beginning of the pandadoc URL is http:// and not https://

The form is not loading correctly

If you have issues with the document loading, it will likely be due to your organisation's firewalls blocking the domain.

To resolve this, ask your IT team to allowlist Pandadoc using this guide. If this is not possible, please reach out to our team via the Support Hub.

Frequently Asked Questions

When and how will I receive my Training Plan?

  • Your Training Plan will be sent to you and your apprentice approximately two working days before your apprenticeship programme begins, which we call the "flying start." Usually, these are sent automatically through Pandadoc, unless your employer has made a different request.

  • If you have not received your training plan, please reach out to our support team who will be able to troubleshoot this.

When is the deadline for signing the Training Plan?

  • Where possible, you should read and sign the Training Plan before your apprentice starts on the programme. However, if you need more time, the ESFA provides 42 days from the start date to sign.

Can someone else sign on their behalf?

  • If you, their line manager, are not available to sign the Training Plan, another suitable supervisor from your employer can sign on the apprentice’s behalf. Our support team will be able to appoint a new signer if you need to nominate someone else.
