A Guide to Finding Your Best Fit Programme
The Skill Scan is a vital step in your Multiverse apprenticeship application journey. It is a diagnostic tool designed to assess your current skills and workplace context to ensure you are matched with a programme where you can truly succeed. This guide explains how to interpret your results and understand our Programme recommendations.
The Purpose of the Skill Scan
Historically, we asked Learners to pick a program and fill in an application which gave them a decision on their eligibility. The new Skill Scan experience is designed to give you more transparency and agency over your learning path. By completing the Skill Scan, you provide data that helps us determine your Role Fit - this is a measure of how easy it will be to apply the skills you learn to your current role on a daily basis. This is a key factor in your success and enjoyment of the program.
Understanding Your Recommendation
How We Calculate Fit
Once you complete the Skill Scan questions, you will be presented with a recommendation page. This engine categorises your compatibility with specific programmes based on your current role and its requirements. You will see one of the following Role Fit Score for eligible programmes:
Strong Fit: Your current role and workplace context are highly compatible with this programme, making it the best match for you to apply new skills immediately.
Good Fit: Your role is well-suited for this programme with a high probability of success, though it may not be your absolute highest compatibility match.
Partial Fit: We have identified specific gaps between your current role and the programme requirements which you will need to address through "Actionable Insights".
Limited Fit: There are notable differences between your role and the programme requirements that require you to commit to specific actions to ensure you can bridge the gap
The "Compatibility Rationale"
Transparency is key to your decision-making. Alongside your Role Fit Score, you will see a Compatibility Rationale. This is a detailed breakdown explaining exactly why you are a match for a specific programme, or why a different programme might be a better fit.
Taking Action on Your Results
Addressing Fit Gaps (Actionable Insights)
If you receive a "Partial" or "Limited" fit score, it does not necessarily mean you cannot proceed. The platform provides Actionable Insights - specific steps you can take to address the gaps identified in your scan. These are actions, such as securing different projects at work or gaining access to specific tools, that you can take any time before the start of the program. If you are confident that you can complete the actions, there is no need to wait - go ahead and enrol on the program via the commitment page.
Selecting Your Programme (Apprenticeship Application)
Regardless of the recommendation score, you can select any of the eligible programmes presented to you. This transitions you from simply being assessed for one programme to actively choosing your career path.
The Commitment Page
Once you have selected a programme, you will be directed to the Commitment Page. This serves as the final confirmation before your launch. On this page, you will:
Review the Timeline: See confirmation that the programme will be starting within the next 60 days.
Confirm Readiness: Acknowledge that you are ready to enrol.
Commit to Actions: If your fit score required specific adjustments (Actionable Insights), you will formally commit to addressing these compatibility issues here.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why was I not rated as a "Strong Fit"?
Fit scores are calculated based on your ability to apply the specific skills of the apprenticeship in your daily role. Check the "Compatibility Rationale" on your results page for the specific reasons.
Can I still apply if I am not a “Strong Fit”?
Yes. You can select an eligible programme even if it is not the highest match, provided you review the Actionable Insights and commit to the necessary steps to bridge the gap.
Should I take all outstanding actions before submitting my commitment?
No. It is fine to submit your application if you are confident you can resolve the actions before the program starts.
What happens after I submit my commitment?
Once you click to confirm, you have completed the "Skill Scan" process and submitted your apprenticeship application.
