This article explains what to do if the candidate made a mistake in an application, clicked the wrong invitation link, or wants to apply through a different programme. The correct recovery route depends on which type of application the candidate is on.
Which Route Applies to You?
Use the table below to find the right route.
Your situation | Recovery route |
You are on a Diagnose and Prescribe (DP) application. | Withdraw your application yourself. See How to Restart Your Application or Switch Skills Scans. |
You are on a non-DP application, or the Multiverse Support Team has directed you to delete your account. | Delete your account and restart. See Deleting Your Account below. |
Withdrawing a DP Application (Self-Serve)
If the candidate is on a Diagnose and Prescribe (DP) application, the application can be withdrawn and restarted without contacting the Multiverse Support Team.
Important: Withdrawing removes the current application and cannot be undone. The candidate can withdraw at any time to restart the same set of questions or to switch to a different invitation link.
For full steps, see How to Restart Your Application or Switch Skills Scans.
To apply through a different programme after withdrawing, use another invitation link from the original email. A new invitation from the employer is only needed if no link was sent for the required programme.
Deleting Your Account (Non-DP or Support-Directed)
The candidate should only delete their account if directed to do so by the Multiverse Support Team.
Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All application progress will be lost.
Step 1: Delete Your Current Account
Only complete these steps if the Multiverse Support Team has directed you to delete the account.
Log in to your Multiverse platform account using your credentials.
Navigate to the left menu or the profile menu in the top-right corner.
Select Account or User settings.
Select Account settings.
Choose the option to delete the account.
Type the required confirmation phrase (for example, DELETE ACCOUNT). This phrase is case-sensitive.
Confirm the deletion by following the on-screen prompts.
If account deletion fails: this may be due to data retention requirements linked to regulatory compliance. See Compliance and Data Retention below. Contact the Multiverse Support Team if the issue persists.
Step 2: Start a New Application
Create a new account on the Multiverse platform using the correct invitation link.
Submit a new application with updated or corrected information.
If the candidate attended an open information session and clicked the wrong invitation link, check the original email for the other links that were sent. Contact the Multiverse Support Team only if no link is available for the required programme.
Compliance and Data Retention
In some cases, account deletion may be restricted due to Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) compliance requirements. Data reported to regulators, including proof of identity, funding eligibility evidence, and course evidence, may need to be retained for up to six years. If the candidate encounters an error when attempting to delete their account, it may be due to these regulatory constraints. Contact the Multiverse Support Team if unsure whether data retention restrictions apply.
