Tableau

Updated this week

What is Tableau?

Tableau is a data visualisation tool that offers an extensive set of features for creating interactive reports, dashboards, and visualisations. Tableau is a fundamental and powerful tool taught throughout our data programmes, with an intuitive interface catering to users of all technical levels.

When will learners need access to Tableau?

Tableau is a requirement for relevant programmes from the flying start, where we take learners through the fundamentals of Tableau before moving on to teaching data visualisation techniques, advanced calculation, and statistical analysis.

What access will learners need to Tableau?

Learners need to be able to access both Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep Builder which can be installed from the Tableau website.

What data will be used within Tableau?

Multiverse places a great deal of emphasis on data governance, and ensures learners are taught how to responsibly work with sensitive and personal data before introducing them to Tableau.

At the start of the programme, we ask apprentices to understand what data governance exists within their organisation. We also provide guidance on working with data in a safe and secure manner.

Since learners must apply their knowledge to actual business cases, it is crucial that they have access to internal datasets while following any organisational guidelines. You can help support the learner to derive maximum value from the programme by establishing clear guidelines for data management and documenting any internal data governance policies and processes.
