Updated over 8 months ago

If something isn't working, when reaching out for help, please provide as much information as possible, including a screenshot or, even better, a screen recording. This helps us resolve your issue on average 5 times faster.

Windows

Screenshot on Windows Laptop:

  1. To take a screenshot on a Windows laptop, press the "PrtScn” (Print Screen) key on your keyboard. This will capture the entire screen.

  2. If you want to capture only the active window, press “Alt + PrtScn" keys together.

  3. The screenshot is now copied to the clipboard. You can paste it into an image editing software like Paint and save the image.

Screen Record on Windows Laptop:

  1. Windows 10 has a built-in screen recording tool called "Game Bar." Press “Windows + G" to open it and click on the record button to start recording.

MacOS Laptop

Screenshot on MacOS Laptop:

  1. To take a screenshot on a MacOS laptop, press “Command + Shift + 3" keys together. This captures the entire screen.

  2. If you want to capture a specific area, press "Command + Shift + 4” keys, then drag the crosshair cursor to select the area. Release the mouse button to capture.

  3. The screenshot is saved on the desktop by default.

Screen Record on MacOS Laptop:

  1. MacOS has a built-in screen recording tool called "QuickTime Player.” Open QuickTime Player, go to "File" and select "New Screen Recording.”

  2. Click on the record button or drag to select the area you want to record. Click "Start Recording" to begin.

  3. Once done, click on the stop button in the menu bar to finish recording.

By following these steps, you can easily take screenshots and screen recordings on your Windows or MacOS laptop.
